Still Time To Apply for Robin Hood Foundation Grants

Deadline is Friday, Mayor said at meeting last night.

The Mayor and Council reminded Berkeley residents at the regular meeting that the deadline for the Robin Hood Foundation grant program is August 16.

Those who have already appliled for funding will be receiving a letter this week, Mayor Carmen F. Amato noted at the regular meeting last night.

"Those who have not applied have until August 16," Amato said. "We're going to move pretty quickly becase we want to distribute the full $200,000 to homeowners who were affected by Sandy."

The grant awards will be in variations of $300 to $1,000 gift cards, Amato said.

Applications may be dropped off in person to the Township Clerk's Office, mailed to: Berkeley Township Hurricane Relief Fund, Post Office Box B, Bayville, NJ 08721 or faxed to 732-505-0145. Click Here for the Application

In related news, Amato noted that the township has processed about $4 million worth of Public Protection and Disaster funds for reimbursement of cleanup efforts. Amato said that the township should be eligible for up to 90 percent reimbursement of those funds.
