Flood Waters Receding In Bayville After Early Morning Incident With School Bus

Water was several feet high in some storm-battered sections

No students were on a Central Regional school bus that became mired in flood waters and mud early this morning, Sgt. Ryan Roth said. The driver reported to police at 6:22 a.m. that the unoccupied bus became stuck on Eugene Furey Boulevard in Bayville, Roth said. "He called us because he thought the bus was going to tip over," said Roth. "It didn't tip over." The Bayville Fire Company responded and the bus was towed away, he said. "Nobody was injured on the bus," he said. "The waters have receded." The water was as high as four feet in some sections at one point , police said. A fast-moving storm dumped heavy rain and strong winds on coastal New Jersey during the early morning hours. The winds are expected to remain high into Saturday, …
