Driver in Collision with County Detective Gets $378 in Fines

Car crash led to death of Tina Rambo, Ocean County Detective and former Point Beach special police officer

A Marlton woman pleaded guilty to two of four Municipal Court charges stemming from a car accident that killed Tina Rambo, an Ocean County detective. Rachel Portnoy, 24, pleaded guilty in Southampton Municipal Court in Burlington County on Wednesday to charges of overtaking and passing vehicles and driving an unregistered vehicle and has to pay $378 in fines and court costs, said Terry Bodine, Municipal Court administrator. Portnoy collided with a car driven by Rambo, 35, a detective with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, on Route 70 in Southampton on Aug. 1, 2011. Rambo died from injuries sustained in the accident, leaving behind her husband, Roy Rambo, and two young boys, who were 3 and 6 years old at the time. Portnoy pleaded guilty…

Forgiveness is a personal belief/Religous thing. When people hurt others, hurt animals or just show a lack of concern for others, that all goes out the window. This is a complete mess allowing this person to get off with a $400 fine after this the family lost their wife & mother.   more ›

Municipal court charges stem from 2011 accident that led to Tina Rambo's death

The driver of a car that collided with another vehicle driven by an Ocean County detective is pleading not guilty to charges in Southampton Municipal Court on Wednesday, according to court officials. Rachel Portnoy, of Marlton, is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on motor vehicle charges stemming from a head-on collision with Tina Rambo, 35, a detective with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, who died in the August 2011 crash. Portnoy, who was 24 at the time of the crash, is pleading not guilty to overtaking and passing vehicles; failure to obey regulations in marked lanes; reckless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle, according to Terry Bodine, Southampton Municipal Court administrator. Final Farewell for Ocean County Detective Rambo

Hundreds of law enforcement officers, friends and family pay their respects to 10-year officer

Hundreds of law enforcement officers paid their respects today to a fallen colleague, Ocean County Detective Tina Rambo. Each of the mourners at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Marlton marched single-file before saluting Rambo, who died Monday after a head-on collision on Route 70. As the ceremony started, a close friend of Rambo's, Anthony Turso, said a few words. "Tina always tried to make things right, to make them perfect. She loves to laugh and joke around, to tease her friends and family. She was a ball of fire." Rambo's sister, Tara Cunningham, also spoke, and told a story of her sister and a trip they had taken. "Tina loved being a cop, and this send-off is such an honor to what she was and wanted to be." Rambo's eulogy was read by her …

Ocean County detective laid to rest today.

Flags will fly at half-staff around the county today in honor of fallen Ocean County Detective Tina E. Rambo. The Office of the Ocean County Administrator issued the order in recognition and mourning of Rambo, a prosecutor's office detective who was killed Monday morning in a head-on collision in the Southampton portion of Route 70. Services were held Thursday and this morning at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Marlton for the 10-year veteran of the Ocean office. Services Thursday, Friday for Detective Who Died in Head-on Collision

Tina Rambo died Monday in Route 70 crash

Funeral services for Tina E. Rambo, an Ocean County detective who died Monday in a head-on collision on Route 70, will be held tomorrow and Friday. According to an obituary prepared by Bradley Funeral Home in Marlton, the viewing will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 349 Evesboro Medford Road in Marlton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Isaac Jogues Church. Interment is in Coleston Cemetery, Cherry Hill. Rambo a 10-year veteran of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, was killed in a head-on collision in the Southampton portion of Route 70 Monday morning. She was 35.
