Saint Barnabas Medical Center is the birthplace of 'Jersey Shore' star's first child, Lorenzo Dominic LaValle.
Welcome Lorenzo, meet Mama Snooki. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, one of the stars of 'Jersey Shore,' gave birth this morning at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Lorenzo Dominic LaValle was born just before 3 a.m., NJ.com reports. The baby boy weighs 6 pounds, 5 ounces and is healthy according to a report by MTV. Snooki is engaged to reality TV star Jionni LaValle. This is her first child. Snooki, JWoww and the rest of the Jersey Shore crew are renting a Johnson Avenue home in Manchester for their current film production. The house has been very much on the quiet side, according to both Police Chief Brian Klimakowski and local residents. Mayor Michael Fressola stated in a recent letter to Manchester Patch that the production company…

Citizen files complaint in wake of fight at Bamboo Bar last weekend
SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ -- Another member of MTV's "Jersey Shore" cast is in trouble. Ronald Ortiz Margo, known as "Ronnie," is the subject of a simple assault complaint filed by a private citizen, according to Seaside Heights Detective Steve Korman. Justin Viterito, age and hometown not given, filed the complaint on Wednesday, June 13, Korman said, in the wake of a fight at Bamboo Bar that occurred on Saturday, June 9. The assault claim comes just days after another cast member, Deena Cortese of New Egypt, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after dancing in the middle of a street and stopping traffic.

Tax break for popular MTV show filmed in Seaside Heights received plenty of local backlash
Gym, tan, laundry. And now, taxes. Governor Chris Christie tossed a tax credit that could have saved the producers of the hit MTV show Jersey Shore $420,000. The governor vetoed the state Economic Development Authority’s award of film tax credits, citing a difficult fiscal climate and a need to use tax credits to support projects that "benefit the state." "I have no interest in policing the content of such projects; however, as Chief Executive I am duty-bound to ensure that taxpayers are not footing a $420,000 bill for a project which does nothing more than perpetuate misconceptions about the State and its citizens," Christie wrote in a letter to Caren Franzini, the chief executive of the EDA. He went on to say that while the EDA board …

Wait, I'm already here! But this snow means longing for summer intensifies as Episode 4 rolls out the grenade whistle
All of this crazy, never-ending snow this winter has really made me wish that I could just transport myself into last night's episode of 'Jersey Shore,' shot last summer on the beaches and boards of Seaside Heights, following around the hard-partying cast as they jump in and out of bars, their hot tub, and exploits. It was a rather serious dose of of reality last night for episode four. On the heels of Jenni's breakup with Tom in last weeks' episode, she had to go rescue her two doggies after being locked in a house for two days with no food, no water, no nothing. Nice move by Tom, and yet another reason for us all to be routing for Jenni and happy for her to be rid of such a *insert unsavory language here.* She brought her little …

The skinny on Snooki's new book, local feedback, plus episode 2 catch-phrases.
A few months back, I heard that Snooki was writing a book and snickered at the thought of it. What on earth could it be about? Would it be a bodice ripper of pulp fiction or a tale of social strata of Bronte proportions? Well, you'll have to get your hands on your own juicy copy of her first novel "A Shore Thing" and read for yourself. I've only had a chance to skim it so far, but the gist is basically a mirror image of her experiences that we've already seen on season 1 of Jersey Shore though the names were changed to protect the not-so-innocent. Gia, the main character, seems to be quite similar to the real Snooki, and from what I have read so far, she goes on and on about hooking up with "Gorilla Juice-Head Guidos" while staying at a …

Episode 1 is a "blast in a glass," plus last week's New Year's Eve event
A new year here on the Jersey Shore was kicked off with a new season of "Jersey Shore" last night. But before last night's episode, there was New Year's Eve with Snooki... Originally MTV wanted to drop Snooki from a ball in Times Square, but no dice! Instead the Plan B brought the event down to the Jersey Shore house in Seaside Heights. Again, this was a much more appropriate decision, seeing that Times Square is not part of the Jersey shoreline in any way. And when I heard about this event, I grabbed my trusty friend Kyle (who is obsessed with Snooki) and we headed over to see our favorite poof in person. The event was pre-taped on Dec 30 to be aired on MTV's New Years Eve show. When we got to the site around 7 p.m. that night, the Shore…
