Curfews Reinstated In Glen Cove, Good Luck Point And Berkeley Shores
Curfews remain in effect in South Seaside Park and Pelican Island
Three and a half months after Superstorm Sandy, township officials have decided to reinstate curfews in most of the waterfront sections of town. Township Council members voted unanimously at the Feb. 11 council meeting to prohibit pedestrian traffic after 5 p.m. in the Good Luck Point, Glen Cove and Berkeley Shores sections of the township. Curfews remain in effect in South Seaside Park and Pelican Island, Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said. "We had some residents request the curfew to limit pedestrian traffic in Glen Cove and Good Luck Point," Amato said. "Berkeley Shores is also included, mainly the areas that have been affected by the superstorm. This is to help our police patrol these areas and help protect personal property." Police …
