Two Toms River Women Charged With Removing Items From Sandy-Damaged House In Bayville

Police find one woman with recyclable items, copper from home on Balsam Drive

Police have charged a Toms River woman with burglary and theft after they found her inside a Balsam Drive home taking items from the flood-damaged residence, Detective Sgt. James J. Smith. Patrolmen William Somers and Don Rowley, along with Detective Will Cullen, responded to the home at 1:30 p.m. today, after receiving a call from a neighbor that people were in the uninhabitable house removing items, Smith said. They charged Donna Yurko, 49, Lacombe Terrace, with burglary and theft. The other woman, Nicole Harmsen, 27, Hazelwood Drive, was charged with receiving stolen property and criminal trespass, he said. Bayville Teens Charged with Burglary and Criminal Mischief at Gas Station

17-year-old males both arrested at Toms River Exxon station Thursday night

Toms River police arrested two juvenile males from Bayville recently for breaking into a fenced-off area at a gas station in Toms River, Chief Michael G. Mastronardy said. “Toms River Police were alerted by a citizen that he observed two males enter a fenced in area of the Exxon gas station at Route 37 and Route 166 at 10 p.m. Thursday evening,” said the chief. Mastronardy said that the first patrolman to arrive at the scene was Officer Shan Ruiz, who heard glass breaking in the area after exiting his patrol car. Pair Arrested, Charged With Theft Of $10,000 In Jewelry In Holiday City

 Berkeley Township police recently arrested a man and a woman and charged them with the theft of more than $10,000 worth of jewelry and cash from a Boca Raton Street home, Sgt. Peter La Rocca said. Cecil Nicholls, 28, Marlboro, and Christine Greenfield, 26, Waretown, have both been charged with burglary and theft. They remain lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, in lieu of $50,000 bail with no ten percent option, La Rocca said. The arrests are connected to a June 26 burglary at the home. The residents were away at the time the incident occurred, sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 10 a.m., he said. Brick Township man charged with burglary and resisting arrest

  Pine Beach Police Chief John Sgro was in the right place when Timothy McCann jumped from a second story window at a Station Avenue home he had attempted to rob. Sgro and Sgt. Keith Brown had responded to the home after a watchful neighbor saw McCann standing at the front door for a prolonged period of time, thought it was suspicious and called police. Sgro headed toward the back of the house and Brown went to the front of the house, when they arrived around 12:25 p.m. on May 2. "He must have heard or saw us," the chief said. "I heard the window open. I saw him hanging from the second story window. He dropped and tried to run. He was subdued." Store Robbed of Undetermined Amount of Cash

King's Marine hit sometime overnight on Sept. 29

Township police are searching for a suspect or suspects who forced open the back door of King's Marine off Route 9 in Bayville and made off with an undetermined amount of cash, Detective Sgt. James J. Smith said. The burglary was discovered early yesterday morning when an employee arrived for work and noticed the lock on the back door had been pried open and cash had been taken from the register, he said. The store, located at 509 Route 9, is behind Sconzi's Pizza. Detective Peter J. LaRocca is investigating, Smith said.

Bayville Man Charged With Pizzeria Burglary

Ocean County grand jury indicts two men in connection with multiple thefts of playground equipment from area nursery schools, day care centers

An Ocean County grand jury has indicted a Bayville man on a burglary charge in connection with a break-in at the Holiday City Pizzeria last month. John F. Carver, 39, of Roosevelt Avenue, is charged with breaking into the Jamaica Boulevard business in the Holiday City at Berkeley retirement community on March 25. He is free on $7,500 bail. Also indicted were Michael Carlucci,  42, of Leonardo, and Tracy K. Williams, 37, of South New Prospect Road, Jackson. They are accused of stealing outside children’s play equipment and toys worth more than $500 from nursery schools, kindergartens and day care facilities in Toms River, South Toms River, Beachwood, Manchester, Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach, Barnegat, Berkeley, Brick, Lacey, Jackson…

Man Suspected of Robbing Toms River Police Chief's Home Arrested in Brick After Weekend Break-In

Justin Lovgren, 25, now being held in the Ocean County Jail, was arrested twice in two days

An alert township resident and a Brick police officer with a keen eye led to the arrest of a Beachwood man suspected of burglarizing a Bryn Mawr Drive home on Saturday. The same man, Justin Lovgren, 25, had been arrested just two days before in connection with a string of robberies in Toms River which included the home of Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. In the case of the Brick robbery, a resident called police after he witnessed a man dressed in a hooded sweatshirt and grey sweatpants walking from the rear yard of a neighboring property whose owners were not home at the time.
