The Huey is lowered into place on the plaza.
stewart resmer April 16, 2014 at 02:11 pm
While the sound of the whop whop whop of a Huey's far off blades always meant help or trouble toRead More every one who heard them? That sound always made me stop to discern if I was hearing automatic heavy weapon fire. To this very day that sound gets my attention day or night awake or asleep.

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

Have studies been done on the long term effects of shooting babies up with foreign proteins? AreRead More you familiar with slow viruses? There's an increase in dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Could it be related to vaccines? Our bodies are pretty adaptable, but our environments are now so polluted that our immune systems are overwhelmed. Another example of this is fibromyalgia. Perhaps all these vaccines given in a short time frame to an immature immune system can overwhelm it and cause neurological disorders. As for "studies"...who funded them? Who supports them? Those who can nake $$$$ off of them is my guess. Question everything.
Cheryl Cuthbertson April 16, 2014 at 02:57 pm
I believe the rise in autism cases in NJ.can be directly traced to the influx of foreigners comingRead More into our community. Most of the children in our local school that are classified as autistic are from Indian/Pakistani families. Could their vaccines have been negligent? Could their pre natal care be the culprit?
Brian N April 16, 2014 at 03:05 pm
I'm sure that's it. How do you know those 'foreign' kids weren't born here and have gone through theRead More very same immunizations as your kids? That might be the most ridiculous comment I have seen on here yet.

To anyone who grew up in this area ( our family goes back more than 150 years ) this is old news.Read More It's common knowledge that the nursing home / rehab center was a hotel that, during Prohibition, hosted many criminals and illicit activity that went unnoticed, hidden in the Pines. The Baymen made a fortune, running hooch via the waterways. This was a main corridor. Capone did stay at the hotel, but he wasn't a mainstay. There was a residence deep in the pines, near the hotel that was dubbed "Spanish Mansion", due to it's neo-Spanish design, popular ( mainly on the west coast and Florida ) during the late 1900's, 1920's. It's believed that THIS is where he actually stayed and (rumors) murders took place. The Spanish style of home was not a style seen very often in NJ, especially coastal towns, so it gained notoriety almost from the start. It burned down many years ago, but the ruins were still there when I was a kid. It was a popular "parking" spot.
The northbound travel lanes on the Route 1&9 Pulaski Skyway will be closed for approximately 24 months while the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) rehabilitates the bridge deck.
Linda Maloney April 13, 2014 at 10:09 am
It's about time they started to make repairs on the Pulaski Skyway, it's been literally fallingRead More apart for years! I heard there is even some controversy with the Port of Authority paying for much of this renovation. It is an access road to the Holland Tunnel, but The Port of Authority isn't responsible for The Holland Tunnel roadways because The Holland Tunnel was there before The POA. I guess the gov. and his people do whatever they want with his own little slush fund(POA).
Marlboro Mann April 13, 2014 at 08:50 pm
Lets hear it for the NJDOT. They could have started the work on Christmas, Palm Sunday, or AshRead More wednesday, but they chose instead to begin the chaos on the first day of Passover thus ensuring that the large percentage of Jewish workers arrive late at work but most importantly arrive home long after the sedars are to begin. Anti Semitism? NO Piss Poor Planning? Yes!

How incredibly stupid of her. @ OE Defending him or merely telling you of my experience in attending 2 Town Halls? My ownRead More experience is that although like others here, I disagree on some political points, I found him surprisingly accessible. After one of the events, he actually chatted with THE PEOPLE afterward in the parking lot, and although I'm a nobody, even I was afforded an opportunity to have a brief exchange with him out there, about an issue I was concerned about. This article in no way resembled my own experience at either of the events I've attended. Just sayin....
ER April 10, 2014 at 01:16 am
p.s. One of the reasons he stayed to chat with THE PEOPLE outside the venue, was that theRead More attendance was so beyond what they had expected, many folks did not get into the building and he felt bad they had come to the event and the place wasn't big enough to hold them all.

Now Read This: ...the Louisiana Senate race will be a test of the old proposition that elections areRead More won by bringing home the bacon, and Landrieu has always argued that she "delivers" In the coming campaign she'll cite the millions and millions of federal dollars she has brought to the state like it's no accident that St. Tammany Parish is feeling a lot of Landrieu love these days. "The St. Tammany Parish school district is getting $67.8 million in disaster loans and accumulated interest for Hurricane Katrina forgiven by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Sen. Mary Landrieu's office announced Monday. The announcement follows FEMA's earlier decision to cancel a $9.9 million loan for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office and a $14.5 million loan to the St. Tammany Parish government." Landrieu, it turns out, inserted a loan forgiveness provision into the 2013 Homeland Security Appropriations bill -- a move that will likely mean future forgiveness for even more Katrina loans. Remember her when you get your flood insurance bill to pay for all those forgiven Katrina loans...

During training, editor trainees including myself were told Patch was going to focus onRead More "hyperlocal NEWS." But when some of us heard questions from some trainees such as "what do you mean by a news beat?," we realized they weren't necessarily focused on hiring journalists. Not sure if folks were being conned or Patch was naïve. In any case, hard news was lacking on the sites and then almost disappeared.

Art, if a actual quanatative/qualitative reseach was done on public sector spending vs. productivityRead More and was presented to the public without bias, it would blow your mind. Its all political numbers game rather than actual want vs. need. Things need to be adjusting according to the times. You say cost vs. benefits. I say yea your gonna a few hundred people out of work but put millions back in the tax payers pockets. Yes public jobs are neccessary, but not cause you want it as a luxary but because its strategically caculated by research. So the questions present, are expensive firefightershere for saving lives or for showin up in minutes for services, such as lock outs. are teaching adminastrators neccassary for individual towns or can it be handled by the county. Can cops be utilized in other fields, like ems, many other services that fire depts. handle. Answer is, there needsresearch done to be a standard based on demographics.

My comments, concerning the scholarship, were based solely on what was posted here about herRead More announcement on her Facebook page. I was just curious - but not to the degree that I would research it or contact the college. Don't have time. But good for her that she got the scholarship money. However, my comments regarding my support for her and her family resolving their issues and getting back together were straight from the heart. I am glad the family is together, and I hope the negative comments will stop.
Loretka April 3, 2014 at 09:22 pm
Note to John - in case you were referring to me - my comments were NOT based on ignorance - justRead More curiosity about the scholarship. My earlier comments were based on my heartfelt wishes that this family would get back together and be happy. Family is important.

Kathy, where exactly does this; “smacking their children” comment come from??? TheRead More court doc (linked above) says nothing about Rachel getting hit, and it specifically states that the DCPP investigated and concluded that there was no abuse in the household. As far as the boyfriend goes… why is it that whenever a girl (or woman) goes bad, it is just assumed that the guy in her life is to blame??? Read the complaint; Rachel obviously had issue long before she hooked up with the most recent boyfriend. Young woman will learn nothing if we blame their boyfriends for their actions, rather than teaching them to accept their own responsibility.
