What's Happening In Southern Ocean County This Weekend

The summer of 2013 is winding down, but there's still plenty to do before heading back to work and school. The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s for both Saturday and Sunday.

SATURDAY  - Wild Animal Scavenger Hunt -
Berkeley branch of the Ocean County Library, 30 Station Road, Bayville. Come in anytime today, search for items and win a small prize.

SATURDAY - 
Lacey Township 5K Race/1 Mile Fun Run, Gille Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m., race starts at 8:30 a.m. Fee is $30. Cash prizes for overall top three male and three female finishers. For more information, call 609-693-1100, ext. 2203, or go online at www.lacey.recreation@njpublic.com.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY - "Les Miserable," at the Surflight Theater, 201 Engleside Avenue, Beach Haven. SUNDAY - Live Animal Talks, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Jakes Branch County Park, 500 Double Trouble Road, Beachwood. Come and meet some of the park's inhabitants at the Nature Center. Program is free, no registration required.
