Comparison: Cost of Beach Badges

A guide to local beaches and where to get the best deals.

Going to the beach is one of the best parts of living on the Jersey Shore. But where is a daily or seasonal beach badge the most expensive?

We've ranked them for you. The following is a guide to save you some money, listing local beach badge prices ranging from inexpensive to expensive.

Island Beach State Park – (732) 793 - 0506

If you walk or bike into IBSP, admission to the park and beach is free. The price per car is $6 for NJ residents, $12 for non-residents. On weekends and holidays the price rises to $10 for NJ residents and $20 for non-residents. Motorcycles are $5 for NJ residents and $7 for non-residents everyday. You can also buy a $50 season pass, for your vehicle, that can be used anywhere in the state park system.

Brick - (732) 262 - 1075

Brick has four beaches; three are along Rt 35 North at 310 Rt 35 N., 354 Rt 35 N., 440 Rt 35 N. and Windward Beach at 265 Princeton Ave. Badges are required when visiting Brick’s beaches. It’s $30 for a seasonal badge and $5 for a daily badge on weekdays. Seniors 65 and older are free, as well as kids 12 and under. Brick does not offer a weekly badge.

 

White Sands Beach, Berkeley Township- (732) 269 - 4456

Located between Seaside Park and Island Beach State Park, Berkeley offers residents a quiet atmosphere to enjoy the beach away from the boardwalks and crowds of Seaside Heights. It’s $35 for a seasonal badge, $20 for a weekly badge and $5 for a daily badge on weekdays, $6 on weekends and holidays. Seniors 65 and older are free, as well as kids 12 and under.

 

Seaside Heights - (732) 793 - 9100

When the lifeguards are on duty, a beach badge is needed to get onto and be on the beach in Seaside Heights. It’s $45 for a seasonal badge and $5 for a daily badge. Seniors 65 and older can purchase a seasonal badge for $10. Kids 12 and under are free. Seaside Heights does not offer weekly badges.

 

Lavallette - (732) 793 – 2111

Animals are not allowed on the beach or other places of resort at any time. Animals on a leash can only be taken on the boardwalk at times other than regular bathing season. It’s $45 for a seasonal badge, $25 for a weekly badge and $7 for a daily badge on weekdays. Seniors 65 and older can purchase seasonal badges for $14 and kids 11 and under are free.

 

Ortley - (732) 341 – 1000 x8410

It’s $50 for a seasonal badge, $25 for a weekly badge and $7 for a daily badge on weekdays, $8 on weekends and holidays. Seniors 65 and older are free, as well as kids 12 and under. Parking is also free on the street, along the back edge of the boardwalk, and in a public parking lot at the end of 3rd avenue. There is also a parking lot between 6th and 7th avenue, just in front of the Surf Club, where you can pay to park.

 

Seaside Park - (732) 793 - 3700

Seaside Park has free parking, where you can find it. However, Park also has the most expensive beach badge prices. It’s $55 for a seasonal badge, $35 for a weekly badge and $10 for a daily badge. Seniors 65 and older can purchase a seasonal badge for $20. Kids 11 and under are free.
