Eight File For Three Seats in Berkeley Township Board of Education Race

Berkeley district includes four elementary schools

Eight people will be on the November ballot for the three available seats on the Berkeley Board of Education, according to the Ocean County Clerk's Office.

Incumbents Lauren Ciccone-Zawada, Mill Creek Road and Stephen J. Pellecchia, Costa Mesa Drive, are both seeking another term on the board. Ciccone-Zawada won a one-year unexpired term in 2012.

John MacMoyle, Northern Boulevard, George A. Kaminski Jr., Ravenwood Drive, and Gerard C. Reuter, Scott Drive, have filed to run again. MacMoyle and Reuter were appointed to unexpired terms in 2012, but lost in the election. Kaminski also lost a bid for a board seat in 2012.

Current Central Regional Board of Education member Christine Dwight, Jeannette Drive, is now running for a Berkeley Board of Education seat.

Also filing are newcomer Edward F. Cammarato, Butternut Lane, and former board member Thomas Guarascio, Grouse Drive.

The Berkeley school district includes the H&M Potter School, Bayville Elementary School, Berkeley Township Elementary School and the Clara B. Worth Elementary School.
