Central Regional Board of Ed Members Reluctantly Approve Budget Cut in Split Vote

Board members bash Seaside Park officials for lack of cooperation

Central Regional Board of Education members voted 5 to 4 tonight to accept $815,239 in cuts to the district budget.

"I think it's a damn shame our kids and staff are the victims of this," longtime board member Denise Pavone-Wilson said before she voted yes. "I'm disgusted."

Board members who did vote yes said they only did so to avoid having to send the defeated budget to the state Department of Education, where the cuts might have been more severe.
