UPDATE: Wednesday Garbage Pickup Postponed To Later In Week Due To Storm

Berkeley residents whose garbage pickup is slated for Wednesday will have to wait another two days, until Jan. 24, Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said.

"We do regret this inconvenience," the mayor said.

Garbage pickup schedules were already behind one day because of the Martin Luther King holiday on Jan. 20.

However, Amato said recycling pickups will be on schedule for Wednesday. Any residents with sanitation and recycling questions can call 732-349-4616.

Berkeley Township Municipal Court is also cancelled for Wednesday, said Deputy Court Administrator Cynthia Walsh. All cases will be rescheduled.

In another storm-related matter, the Ocean County Road Department has closed the Birch Street bridge over the Garden State Parkway until the storm subsides.

Berkeley Township and Central Regional Schools will also be closed on Wednesday and all after-school activities are cancelled.
