Golf, Irish festival, remembering a fallen soldier

 

Wednesday - Ocean County Board of Freeholders, 4 p.m., Ocean County Administration Building, 101 Hooper Avenue, Toms River.

Thursday - Annual Mayor's Golf Outing, Cedar Creek Golf Course, Forest Hills Parkway, Bayville. The $85 fee includes greens fee, carts and luncheon. The event kicks off with a continental breakfast and sign-in at 7 a.m., followed by "shotgun" start at 8 a.m. For more information or to register, go to www.btrec.org.

Thursday - Bingo night, sponsored by the Bingo Club, Clubhouse #2, Port Royal Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m., bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. 

Saturday - The Ancient Order of Hibernians are holding their annual Irish Festival at Veterans Park in Bayville. The festivities start at 9 a.m.

Saturday - Sgt. John A. Lyons Run to Remember - a 5k and 1 mile run in honor of Seaside Park man who was killed in action in Afghanistan last October. Proceeds will go towards the Wounded Warrior Project. Registration is $25 for the 5k run. T-shirts will come with registration while the supply lasts. Registration for 1-mile fun run is $15 and includes a T-shirt while supplies last. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. One mile run starts at 9:30 a.m., 5k run starts at 10 a.m. Races will begin at the 24th Avenue basketball courts, which will be dedicated to Lyons. Saturday - Berkeley Shores Homeowners Civic Association will hold its annual meeting at 9 a.m. in the township recreation building on Route 9 in Bayville. Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. will be the guest speaker.
