Although township officials reminded residents at the Oct. 21 Township Council meeting that there would be only one meeting in November, apparently that is not the case.
A special meeting and public hearing is slated for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 1 in Town Hall on two proposed ordinances - one that calls for the creation of a deputy police chief position and one calling for salary increases for members of the township Municipal Utilities Authority and the Berkeley Township Sewerage Authority.
Township Council members voted unanimously to introduce both ordinances at the Oct. 21 council meeting, but Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. and council members did not discuss the items.
Councilwoman Fran Siddons and Councilman Kevin Askew did not attend the meeting.
Come back to Berkeley Patch for more information later.
