Local Business Students Take 2nd in National Contest
Ocean County College students compete in Phi Beta Lambda competition
How do the top business students at Ocean County College measure up with 250,000 members of Phi Beta Lambda across the U.S. and its territories?
That question was answered at the group’s national leadership conference in Orlando, Fla., recently.
Two OCC students took second place in competitions pitting them against 500 students from two- and four-year schools.

Frank Gorman was second in the future business executive competition and Nekiesha Hatch took the silver in client services competition. Edward Day finished fifth among those presenting marketing concepts, and Rebecca Tray was in the top 15 of those interviewing for a job.
Gorman was elected vice president of Phi Bata Lambda’s eastern region. Professor Katherine Dillon won the regional adviser award for the third time, and OCC’s chapter was named a Gold Seal chapter, Gorman said.

He said OCC students received more awards than any school on the East Coast. OCC is one of nine schools in the country to be designated a national chapter, he added.
