Governor's Mobile Cabinet Heading Back to Berkeley Area Today

Event will be Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Area residents who need help dealing with Superstorm Sandy can get some answers, when the state sets up a "mobile cabinet' at the Berkeley Township Recreation Center.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the center at 630 Route 9 South in Bayville on August 7.

"I wish to thank Governor Christie and his office for accommodating my request to have the mobile cabinet come to Berkeley Township." Mayor Carmen Amato said in a statement.
"Their is still a lot of uncertainty regarding the Superstorm Sandy recovery process. This will give our residents another opportunity to ask questions they may have and to be able to talk to various State Department representatives on a one on one basis."

Amato said this is not limited to those residents affected by Superstorm Sandy. "Any resident who has any questions or who needs assistance can attend." Mayor Amato concluded.

Representatives from state and federal agencies will be on hand,including the Governor’s Office of Constituent Relations and the Department of Banking and Insurance.

They will assist residents and discuss ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts. Residents who need help are urged to bring paperwork dealing with any questions they may have.

The event is open to any area residents who need help dealing with the storm's aftermath.

For example, individuals with insurance issues should bring their policies and any claims information, documentation and relevant correspondence they have.   

The state has already conducted mobile cabinets in Atlantic, Bergen, Cumberland, Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean counties.
