Freeholders Fire County Contractor After Sexually Explicit E-Mails Surface, Report Says

A politically connected Ocean County government contractor accused of sexually harassing a county employee was fired after the Asbury Park Press asked to see copies of “explicit” emails sent from his government account, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press.

The contractor, Joseph M. Veni, 66, of JMV Consulting & Inspection Services in Brick, was paid up to $150,000 a year. He also is a commissioner on the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority. Veni had been an engineering consultant for the county government since 2004, Ocean County Administrator Carl W. Block said.
