Five Things Happening in Berkeley This Week

Township Council meeting, Turkey Day, remembering a fallen Ocean Gate police officer

 

Monday and Tuesday - half-day sessions in the Berkeley Township School District from 8:05 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Parent-teacher conferences are slated to be held from 12:35 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on both days and also from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schools are closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Tuesday - Berkeley Township Council, 627 Pinewald-Keswick Road. The caucus starts at 7 p.m., followed immediately by the regular council meeting.

Thanksgiving - Central Regional alumni will have a chance to reconnect with each other before the big game between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the "Garnet and Gold" reunion gathering at the high school. Signs will be posted noting each class year.

Thanksgiving - Central Regional High School Golden Eagles go up against Point Pleasant Borough in a turkey day clash at home. The game gets underway at 11 a.m.

Friday - Candlelight vigil to honor Ocean Gate Patrolman Jay Marles, who was on his way home after working a night shift when he was killed by a drunk driver last Thanksgiving on the Garden State Parkway. The ceremony gets underway at 7 p.m. in front of Borough Hall.
