Five Things Happening in Berkeley This Week

Surf fishing, reptiles, health and wellness and astronomy events on tap

Tuesday - Berkeley Township Council caucus meets starts at 7 p.m. in Town Hall at 627 Pinewald-Keswick Road. The regular council meeting starts immediately after the caucus meeting. Both meetings are open to the public.

 

Wednesday - Ocean County REPTILES! Come and meet reptiles indigenous to Ocean County at 10:30 a.m. at the Berkeley Branch of the Ocean County Library on 30 Station Road. Ages 5-9. Pre-registration is required, either online or by calling 732-269-2144.

Friday - Learn the techniques of successful surf fishing at Island Beach State Park. Fishing equipment and bait is supplied. The event is open to anyone ages 10 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required. Call the park at 732-793-0506.

Saturday - Soulsational Music and Wellness Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Veterans Park. The event features 20 acoustic folk and reggae performances, interactive exhibits, healthy food and activities, skateboard competition, zumba classes, Tai Chi, the "largest meditation" in New Jersey and a poetry corner. Businesses devoted to health and wellness will also be on hand. Admission is free.

 

Saturday - Starlab Planetarium at the Berkeley branch of the Ocean County Library at 30 Station Road in Bayville. Learn how to locate planets, stars and constellations. Ages 5-10. Two showings at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Library. For more information, call 732-269-2144.
