Cold Front Coming Soon, Expect High Winds This Afternoon


A cold front is rapidly approaching the Jersey Shore area and wind chills could dip as low as -1 degrees by tonight, according to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service.

The front will blow in between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Winds behind the front will gust to between 40 to 50 miles per hour, the NWS said.

Expect a low of 11 degrees tonight, with a wind chill of -1 and northwest winds of 18 miles per hour.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high of 20 degrees, with a wind chill of -3 degrees. Winds will be from the northwest at 18 miles per hour.

The outlook for Wednesday is mostly sunny with a high near 22 degrees and west winds of 13 miles per hour.

Temperatures will gradually moderate towards the end of the week.
