Woman Injured as Car Goes into Marsh

A female passenger was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center

One woman was injured when a car driven by her friend ended up in the marsh along the eastern side of Bayview Avenue early Saturday afternoon.

The driver, a woman who appeared to be in her late 20s or early 30s, was unhurt. She refused comment at the scene of the accident, which happened shortly after 1 p.m. near Maple Street.

The extent of the injuries to the passenger were unknown, but the female passenger was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment.

Responding to the scene, in addition to Berkeley Township police, were the Bayville First Aid Squad and a truck from the Bayville Fire Company.
