A tornado warning for the Berkeley Township area has been canceled, the National Weather Service is reporting.

The National Weather Service doppler radar said the severe thunderstorm is "capable" of producing a tornado, and that the storm is near Manahawkin.

A tornado could be near Harvey Cedars by 11 a.m. and then move to Barnegat Light, the NWS reported.

The National Weather Service is saying to take precautions, such evacuating or remain in a stable area. Motorists should not take shelter under overpasses.
