Two Berkeley Men Indicted on Child Porn Charges

Indictments handed up by the Ocean County grand jury

Two Berkeley men have been indicted by an Ocean County grand jury separately in a child pornography case in the township.

Renny L. Bowman was indicted on a second-degree count of distribution of child pornography and a count of fourth-degree possession of child pornography, between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30.

Shawn M. Bowman was indicted on a count of fourth-degree possession of child pornography between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30, for allegedly knowingly possessing and knowingly watching material depicting a child engaging in a sexual act or simulating such acts.

Both men have been released on summonses.

A Manchester man and an Old Bridge man have been indicted in a New Year's Day assault that seriously injured a man.

Luis A. Perez of Manchester was indicted on a sole count of second-degree aggravated assault, along with Dominick Mauro of Old Bridge, in connection with the Jan. 1 assault of Michael G. Coughlin in Stafford, by an Ocean County grand jury last week.

The indictment accuses the men "purposely did attempt to cause, or purposely or knowingly did cause, or under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, recklessly did cause serious bodily injury."

Both men have posted $50,000 bail, with no 10 percent, according to the indictment.

Also indicted by the grand jury:

  • Kayla L. Morgan of Bayville, on a count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, for allegedly having heroin in Lacey on Dec. 28. She was released on a summons.
