Two Arrested On Drug Charges Near Wawa Store on Route 9

by Patricia A. Miller

Berkeley police recently arrested an Ocean Gate woman and a Toms River man on several drug charges, after responding to a suspicious persons call, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Michael Tanis went to the store on Dec. 8, where he found  Genevive Kirwan, 22, Ocean Gate, and Timothy Lanno, 24, Toms River. Further investigation showed that the two were each in possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes, the chief said.

Kirwan was also illegally in possession of Suboxone, a prescription medication, and was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, DiMichele said.

The Ocean County Prosecutors Office Special Operations Group also assisted in the arrest, the chief said.
