Toms River Man Indicted in Berkeley Burglaries

Grand juries hand up indictments

A Toms River man remains jailed on $25,000 bail after being indicted last week on burglary and theft charges.

Steven Cocuzza is accused of committing two burglaries in Berkeley in December. Authorities said he broke into a St. Thomas Drive home Dec. 28 then burglarized a Lagos Court home Dec. 30.

Cocuzza also stole more than $500 in jewelry from the St. Thomas Drive home, authorities said.

Cocuzza remains housed at Ocean County Jail, with the 10 percent option allowed on his $25,000 bail. If he makes bail, he is forbidden contact with the resident of the St. Thomas Drive home.

Grand juries also indicted:

  • Gabriel S. Frigerio of Toms River and Steven C. McDuffie of Lakewood on drug charges.

The pair were arrested Dec. 9 and accused of two counts of obtaining oxycodone by fraud in Lacey and Berkeley. Both also were indicted on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession with intent to distribute.

Both were released on summonses.
