Three people were hurt when a strong thunderstorm blew through the Ocean County Fair Monday night and toppled a tent, according to the South Toms River Volunteer First Aid and Rescue Squad's Facebook page.

The South Toms River squad, Bayville First Aid squad and Beachwood First Aid squads were on duty that night at the fairgrounds at Robert J. Miller Airpark in Berkeley Township when the incident happened.

Two victims were transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River by the Beachwood and Bayville squads. The South Toms River squad remained at the scene until the site was cleared by the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, according to the Facebook page.

I feel bad for those hurt, but that was probably the most entertaining thing that happened at that fair.

Are these primitive times where they didn't get a severe thunderstorm warning? Doppler radar? A lawyer will have a field day taking this case = )

With the amount of property taxes we pay, how can they justify charging residents to attend? ??. Maybe if they didn't charge residents to attend, they would go and spend money with the local vendors.

Attendance would rise a lot if there was no entry fee.
