Three Charged With Heroin Possession After Berkeley Traffic Stop

A Toms River woman, a Manchester man and a Berkeley woman were charged in Berkeley last week with heroin possession, police said.

On May 27 at 8:50 p.m., Ptl. Patrick Stesner conducted a motor vehicle stop on Veterans Blvd near Clifton Avenue. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Tara Mathis, 36, of Toms River, was in possession of a quantity of suspect heroin and paraphernalia.

Further investigation also revealed that the two passengers, William Grone Jr., 31, of Whiting and Cheryl Negal, 25, of Bayville were also in possession of a quantity of heroin and paraphernalia.

As a result all three were arrested and transported to police H.Q. for processing. All three were later released on a summons.
