Rough weather on the way


Prepare to hunker down for the next several days, as a prolonged Nor'easter moves into Ocean County. The National Weather Service has issued coastal flood advisory for Thursday, with minor tidal flooding beach erosion, and heavy wind-driven waves. Seas will run between six to nine feet.

Today - Rain, heavy at times, with a high near 65 degrees. Winds will be from the northeast at 18 to 20 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Between a half to three-quarters of an inch of rain are possible.

Tonight - The deluge continues. Periods of rain and drizzle, with a low near 59 degrees. Winds will be from the northeast at 17 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Between three-quarters to an inch of rain are possible.

Friday - Periods of rain with a high near 67 degrees. Winds will be from the northeast at 18 miles an hour. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Things to Do:

Back-to-school night at Central Regional High School, Forest Hills Parkway, Bayville. Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato will speak to parents after the sessions with teachers
