Suspicious Vehicle Report Leads To Arrests At Cove Restaurant

Police recently arrested two Bayville men in the parking lot of the Cove Restaurant off Bayview Avenue, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Michael Tier located the suspicious vehicle at 8:15 p.m. on April 13. Restaurant. Further investigation revealed that the occupants, Erik Schneider, 30, and Anthony Cippolletti, 24, were in possession of a quantity of marijuana and associated paraphernalia, the chief said.

After further investigation, Tier discovered that Schneider had a prohibited assault rifle and prohibited ammunition, DiMichele said.

Both men were arrested and taken to police headquarters. Schneider's bail was set at $35,000 with a ten percent option. He was released after posting bail. Cippolletti was released on a summons and was not charged with the weapons offense, the chief said.
