'Suspicious' Barnegat Man Arrested In Berkeley On Heroin Possession Charges

A Barnegat man described as "suspicious" was arrested this past week on heroin possession charges, police said.

On Tuesday at 6 p.m., Ptl. Michael Tier and Ptl. John Mulvihill encountered two suspicious males on Rt 9 near Sloop Creek Road, police said. The men were identified as Justin Pomasan, 22, of Barnegat and Bryan Boutillette, 25, of Ocean Gate, each of whom had several outstanding warrants for their arrests, police said.

Both were subsequently arrested.

An investigation revealed that that Pomasan was in possession of a quantity of suspect heroin as well as paraphernalia, police said. Pomason was charged with drug offenses and was transported to the Ocean County Jail in default of bail.

Boutillette was released after being processed on the authority of the warrant issuing agencies.
