Shoplifter In ShopRite Charged With Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia


A Toms River woman accused of shoplifting in the Bayville ShopRite has also been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.


Patrolman Al Foca responded to the store on Route 9 at 6:30 p.m. on July 4 on a report of a shoplifter in custody they had detained, the chief said.

Store security told police they detained Melissa Minnitti, 41, of Whittier Road, Toms River. Further investigation revealed that Minnitti was also in possession of drug paraphernalia and had an outstanding warrant issued by Bloomfield,  DiMichele said.

Minnitti was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.  She was charged and later released on a summons, the chief said.
