Route 9 Accident Wreaks Havoc on Morning Traffic
Lanes closed near Kamy Dental and Wawa at Sylvan Lake Boulevard
An early morning accident on Route 9 just north of Sylvan Lake Boulevard has traffic at a standstill as emergency workers repair downed, live power lines.
Both lanes on the highway are closed. Traffic is being diverted through the Kamy Dental parking lot.
The one-vehicle accident occurred at around 7:15 a.m. when a Jeep-type vehicle hit a telephone pole.

The driver, identified as Bruce C. Reynolds, 39, was taken to Community Medical Center with a possible concussion, according to an official at the scene.
The Bayville Fire Company and NJ State Police also responded to the accident due to the downed wires and the need for traffic control.

A dog inside the Jeep was temporarily taken by animal control, according to the official.
