Police Identify Brick Woman Found Dead in Toms River Hotel

Authorities still have no released name of 18-year-old found dead Tuesday

By Gregory Kyriakakis

Police have identified the Brick woman found dead this week in a Toms River hotel room as 18 year old Devin Terry.

Terry's body was found Tuesday morning in a room at the Red Roof Inn on Water Street. Authorities at this point cannot confirm how she died.

Toxicology results, which could tell authorities if drugs played a role, are still pending, according to Captain Jack Sramaty of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations Group.

"It could take as long as two weeks," he said. "Maybe a little longer."

Terry was found in the hotel room at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and Detective Randy Petrick are investigating the death, along with the narcotics unit. An autopsy was performed on Tuesday, according to Sramaty.

Anyone who may have information on Terry's death is asked to contact prosecutor's office Detective John Murphy at 732-929-2027, ext. 2422 or Petrick at 732-349-0150.
