Police Charge Man Living In Car Off Grant Concourse With Burglaries

Glenwood Kearney lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail


Berkeley police have arrested a man found living in a car off Grant Concourse near Route 9 with burglarizing nearby homes, Police Chief Karin F. DiMichele said.

Patrolmen William Somers and David Burke responded to the area at 9:30 a.m. on July 12 on a report of a suspicious man living in a car on the property, the chief said.

Further investigation revealed that Glenwood Kearney, 38, Melville Avenue, Lakewood had committed burglaries in the area. He was arrested, taken to police headquarters and charged with burglary, theft and criminal trespass, the chief said.

Kearney was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $10,000 bail, DiMichele said.
