Police Charge Howell Man With Drunken Driving

Robert J. Lamborn also ran a red light on April 20, police say

Berkeley Township police recently arrested a Howell Township man on a drunken driving charge after Patrolman Michael O'Connor saw him run a red light on April 20.

Robert J. Lamborn, 52, Jesse Road, was also charged with reckless driving and failure to observe a red light, Detective Sgt. James J. Smith said.

O'Connor was on patrol at 10:20 p.m. when he observed Lamborn run a red light in his 2006 Volvo at the intersection of Route 37 and Catalina Drive in the western section of the township, Smith said.

When O'Connor pulled Lamborn over, he noticed an odor of alcohol in the car. Lamborn subsequently failed a number of field sobriety tests, Smith said.
