Manchester Police Charge Two Bayville Men With Drug Offenses

Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Drug Charges

Two Bayville men face numerous charges after police allege that drugs and paraphernalia were found during a traffic stop in Manchester.

Manchester police Patrolman Peter Manco made a motor vehicle stop on Oct. 19, and seized 150 wax paper folds containing heroin, multiple empty wax paper folds, a hypodermic needle and $4,501 in cash, according to a statement released by Lt. Vincent Manco.

Alan Arons, 31, Bayville, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and hindering apprehension, Manco said.

Arons initially provided police with the name "Robert Arons" when questioned, Manco said, but fingerprints led to the positive identification of Alan Arons.

James Steele, 23, Bayville, faces charges for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle, the lieutenant said.

Arons was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River on $27,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, on the charges issued by Manchester police as well as "multiple" outstanding motor vehicle warrants from Brick and Tinton Falls, according to Manco.

He remains in jail, according to the Ocean County Department of Corrections.

Steele was also lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $2,500 bail, with no 10 percent option, the lieutenant said. Steele remains jailed, according to corrections information.
