Point Boro Man Arrested In Point Beach Hit-And-Run That Left Man Lying In Street

A 39-year-old Point Pleasant Boro man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run last week that left a Point Pleasant Beach man lying in the street, police said.

Stuart Purcell was arrested at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5, about 13 hours after Michael Scottid'antuono was discovered on the side of Arnold Avenue lying face down, police said.

Point Beach police said "information led us" to the vehicle in Point Boro, where Purcell was arrested at his house.

He was arrested on a third-degree charge of leaving the scene of accident with injuries, and other motor vehicle violations.

He was released after posting $10,000 bail with a 10 percent option, Point Beach police said.

Scottid'antuono was hospitalized at Jersey Shore Medical Center, but police were unaware of his condition at press time.

On Facebook, his ex-wife, Michelle Bernabe Ebeid, has asked people to say a "prayer for her ex husband who is my daughter Alice's father."

"He was hit by a car last night and he is critical. The man who hit him left him laying in the street. Amazingly with the help of God and his special angels we found a man outside fixing a broken light on his van. Turns out it was the man who hit Mike. God is good! Thank you all for all your prayers. I love you all"
