Pine Beach Man Had 30 Bricks Of Heroin In Car After Drug Deal in Toms River

Jeffrey Winiavski, 36, facing drug charges, in county jail

Toms River police seized 30 bricks of heroin – 1,508 wax folds in all – after officers from the department's Special Enforcement Team conducted surveillance on a drug deal in the parking lot of the Howard Johnson hotel on Hooper Avenue earlier this week.

After noticing the narcotics transaction in the parking lot at about 5 p.m. Monday, police spokesman Ralph Stocco said, officers developed information on a black Chebrolet Suburban that they suspected was involved in drug trafficking activities.

The vehicle, being operated by Jeffrey Winiavski, 36, of Pine Beach, left the area and mobile surveillance was initiated by officers, Stocco said.

After police observed "numerous motor vehicle violations," they conducted a stop and investigated, ultimately leading them to find to the 30 bricks of heroin inside the vehicle, said Stocco.

Winiavski was placed under arrest without incident and was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute over one half ounce.

Winiavski's bail was set at $75,000 cash and he remains at the Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail.
