UPDATE: Galleon Court Man Taken To Community Medical Center After 'Impalement' Mishap

Police Chief characterizes incident as a minor first aid call

A Galleon Court incident characterized by the Breaking News Network as an 'impalement' turned out to be far less serious, Berkeley police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

BNN reported at 1:18 a.m. that a person at a Galleon Court residence was impaled on a stick. Police officers were on the scene and requested help for the person, who was reportedly unconscious.

DiMichele said this morning that Wesley Hundeman, 46, had been walking through the woods near his Galleon Court home when a stick went through his forearm.

Officers and members of the Bayville First Aid Squad responded to the scene. Hundeman was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where he received stitches and was later released, the chief said.

"It was nothing serious at all," DiMichele said. "For us it was a minor first aid call."
