An Ocean Gate man facing numerous charges related to a Aug. 19 domestic violence incident that left a two-year-old boy injured has been arrested.

Joseph Ciccone III, 23, 410 Ocean Gate Avenue, is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $150,000 bail with no ten percent option, said Deputy Detective Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Ciccone was arrested on Aug. 25 at the Hidden Creek Apartments in Bayville without incident, Mohel said.

Police had been looking for Ciccone for nearly a week after a domestic violence incident during the early morning hours of Aug. 19 at 410 Ocean Gate Avenue.

The toddler suffered lacerations to his head and back and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was treated for several days before being released.

Mohel has not released the circumstances of the domestic violence incident, but said that Ciccone also threw knives at the boy's mother.

Ciccone has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, threatening to kill, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal restraint, Mohel said.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge Wendell Daniels set Ciccone's bail at $150,000, with no ten percent option, the day of the incident.

Ciccone was arrested by Ocean County Sheriff's Office Detective Timothy Duffy and Robert Trainor of the U.S. Marshal's Task Force Unit, Mohel said.
