A 23-year-old man was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center recently after he was struck by a car at the intersection of Mill Creek Road and Point Pleasant Drive, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Michael Larose, Ocean Gate, was traveling north on Mill Creek Road on his bicycle when a car driven by John Martin, 48, Ocean Gate, struck him on Dec. 2. Martin was traveling east on Point Pleasant Avenue when the accident occurred, the chief said.

Larose was not wearing a helmet and his bike was not equipped with a light at the time of the accident. No summonses were issued, DiMichele said.
