Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Arrests Three Suspected Of Heroin Distribution

They all came from Trenton.

But the three suspects arrested by the Special Operations Group on Tuesday are accused of operating a drug distribution network that worked its way into Ocean County, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato said.

“Drug dealers importing their deadly product from jurisdictions outside of our county are targeting Ocean County residents for profit," Coronato said. "To stop the high number of overdose deaths we must stem this flow of illegal narcotics."

The multi-jurisdictional investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group (SOG) culminated with a "No-Knock" search warrant in an apartment at 28 Wood Street in Trenton, he said.

Arrested were:

• Dihmir A. Jones, 23, of 1427 Stuyvesant Avenue, Trenton, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.  Bail was set at $200,000 cash.

• Lautherica D. Davenport, 26, (brother of Dihmir) of 28 Wood Street, Apt B, Trenton, NJ was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.  Bail was set at $35,000 cash.

• Arlaya R. Harris (Female), 23, of 28 Wood Street, Apt B, Trenton, NJ was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.  Bail was set at $25,000 cash.

"The partnering agencies investigation and subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of one hundred and ninety four (194) glassine envelopes of heroin," Coronato said.

The investigation was conducted by the SOG Southern Enforcement Group, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Crimes Unit, the Stafford Township Police Department, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Narcotics Task Force, the Trenton Police Department and the New Jersey State Police, he said.

"These arrests highlight the tremendous drug interdiction capabilities of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group," Coronato said. "I commend the brave members of the partnering agencies for their courage and the sacrifice that they make on a regular basis in order to send a clear message to dealers that they will be pursued relentlessly and that Ocean County is not an open market to drug dealers.”

The operation is the second time SOG has had success operating outside the county in an effort to stem the flow of heroin into Ocean County.  A previous operation targeted four Newark individuals who allegedly established a drug distribution network in Ocean County and operated a CDS manufacturing facility located at 190 Emmet Street in Newark.
