No Charges Filed After Standoff on Northern Boulevard in Bayville
Incident arose after apparent domestic dispute, police say
No one was injured after a lengthy standoff at a home on Northern Boulevard that began late last night, Detective Sgt. James J. Smith said.
Police first responded to the home at 11:17 p.m., on a report of some type of domestic violence issue, he said.
"Once at the residence, police deemed it not to be a problem and left," Smith said.

But police received another call from the same residence at 2:20 a.m. and returned to the house, he said.
"We got called back from someone who was not at the home," Smith said. "Whoever called the police said he was threatening some type of violence."

The 40-year-old man who was the subject of the call did not answer the door when police knocked, he said.
"Because of the nature of the call and the belief he was still in the house, they deemed him uncooperative," Smith said.
Police negotiating teams from Berkeley Township and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department arrived and remained at the scene until the subject came out of the house at 11:49 a.m. without incident.
The man was not arrested and no charges were filed, Smith said.
His name and exact address are not being released, since no arrest was made, Smith said.
