Man Arrested After Berkeley Traffic Stop; Owed More Than $6,000 In Child Support

A 34-year-old Brick man was arrested at a Berkeley traffic stop and charged recently with owing more than $6,000 in child support, police said.

On Feb. 2, at 9 p.m., Ptl. Michael Tier and Ptl Christopher Elliot conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 near Cranmer Road. While speaking to the driver identified as Kenneth Macteer 34 of Brick, it was revealed that he had an outstanding warrant totaling $6,148 out of Somerset County for nonpayment of child support.

Macteer was arrested and transported to police HQ. where he was processed. Macteer was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of bail.
