Lacey Man's Ear Severed in Forked River House Fight

Two Bayville men were charged in incident

A Forked River man lost a portion of his ear after a fight erupted in the parking lot of the Forked River House early Sunday morning, police said.

Police responded to the Forked River bar and restaurant at 2:55 a.m. Sunday and arrested Brian Schremmer, 24, and Curt Schremmer, 26, both of Bayville.

Brian Schremmer was charge with aggravated assault for injuring the unnamed 31-year-old Forked River male, police said.

The male victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries to his face and eye. He also lost a portion of one of his ears, which was located by an officer and sent to the hospital, police said.

Brian Schremmer was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. His bail was set at $20,000 with no 10 percent option, police said.

Curt Schremmer was charged with obstructing administration of law and resisting arrest. He was also taken to the Ocean County Jail. His bail was set at $10,000 with no 10 percent option, police said.
