UPDATE: Lacey Man Busted For Impersonating Cop Now Faces Trouble In Berkeley

A 36-year-old Lacey man once charged with impersonating an officer was arrested in Berkeley recently for careless driving and contempt of court.

On Nov. 18, Bryan Boggs of Lanoka Harbor was arrested, processed and transported to Ocean County Jail by Ptl. Christopher Elliot.  Beachwood P.D. assisted in this arrest.

The Lanoka Harbor man was arrested earlier this year for allegedly impersonating a police officer.

A patron of a local restaurant overheard Boggs identifying himself as “Lieutenant Fredrick” of the Lacey Township Police Department while speaking on his cellular phone.

Officer John McKee responded to the scene at 7 p.m., Feb. 18, and spoke to the concerned patron.

An investigation revealed that Boggs convinced an 83-year-old Forked River woman to supply her personal information, including social security number, date of birth and an account number.

Boggs was arrested at the restaurant and charged with impersonating a police officer. He was processed and released on a summons.
