Holiday City Man Charged With Resisting Arrest, Obstruction At Clubhouse

A Holiday City man apparently upset about an early pool closing has been charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of the administration of the law, Police Cheif Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman Al Foca responded to the Holiday City Clubhouse #2 at 6 p.m. on July 2 on a threats complaint. Witnesses told the officer that Steven Cosentino, 62, Jamaica Boulevard, made threats to harm others because of a dispute about the pool closing early, the chief said.

When Foca tried to speak to Cosentino, Cosentino became "disorderly and aggressive" towards Foca. Foca tried to place him under arrest, and Cosentino physically resisted, DiMichele said.

Cosentino was eventually put in handcuffs and secured. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed, then taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of bail, the chief said.
