Authorities Arrest Three, Seize 150 Bags Of Heroin From Bayville Apartment

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Wauters sets bail at $100,000 with no ten percent option for all three

 

Two Bayville residents and an Elizabeth man were arrested recently at the Berkeley Garden Apartments after police found 150 bags of heroin, Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group and the Berkeley Township Police Department conducted an investigation into drug activity in the area of the apartment complex at 41 Frederick Drive on July 29, Capt. Jack Sramaty said.

Police found and seized the heroin after a search of unit A13, he said

Brian Crawford, 22, Elizabeth, Calvin Mitchell, 24, and Mary Nielsen, 46, were all charged with possession of heroin under one half ounce; possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute and possession of heroin with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public housing project, Sramaty said.

Mitchell's and Nielsen's addresses are listed as the apartment unit, he said

Members of the Berkeley Township Police Detective Bureau and the Berkeley Township Police Patrol Division assisted in the investigation, Ford said.
