Brick Woman, A Former Bayville School Teacher, Indicted In Thefts from Co-Workers

Jenny Divone of Brick resigned her position in May, a district official said

A former teacher at the Bayville Elementary School, who resigned her position last May, has been indicted in connection with thefts from two of her co-workers at the school.

Jenny Divone of Brick was indicted Wednesday by an Ocean County grand jury, sitting in Toms River, on one count of third-degree theft and one count of fourth-degree theft.

Divone had been teaching at Bayville School, a kindergarten-through-fourth grade school, for seven years, according to information in the DataUniverse database.

The indictment alleges she stole more than $200 cash from Grace Pascucci - a kindergarten teacher at Bayville School according to DataUniverse - on Oct. 17, 2011, and that she took more than $500 cash from Karen Ratushny - who teaches art at the school, according to DataUniverse - between Nov. 7 and Nov. 15.

Berkeley Township Board of Education secretary Laura Venter confirmed after Thursday's Board of Education meeting that Divone resigned her position in May.

Divone was released on a summons, according to the indictment.
