Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group recently arrested five area residents on a variety of charges in connection with a drug distribution operation in three towns.

Detectives, along with Berkeley, South Toms River and Beachwood police officers, executed search warrants at four houses on Dec. 7 - two in Berkeley, one in Beachwood and one in South Toms River, Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge James Blaney set Hardy's bail at $250,000, with no ten percent option.

Police also executed search warrants on four vehicles - a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, a 2005 Lincoln Continental, a 2012 Honda Pilot and a 1999 Buick Regal.

The vehicles and homes were used to facilitate the drug distribution operation, Ford said.

Never heard of a charge " maintaining a fortified structure" but if with the other charges it amounts to bail of $250,000 with no 10 %, keep him in the fortified Ocean County Jail.

This is great, but can you do it more often? I know that your hands are partly tied, and the law doesn't allow the police to really do their job. The sad thing is, these drug dealers get out of jail and do it again. They should bring back the three time loser charge that says if you do the same crime three times, you never get out!

Well the "Hardy Boys" got caught and I believe they can kiss their homes goodbye since NJ law says they lose the houses ta-boot.
