Five Arrested In Area Drug Sweep

Investigation spanned Berkeley, Beachwood and South Toms River, Ocean County Prosecutor says

Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group recently arrested five area residents on a variety of charges in connection with a drug distribution operation in three towns.

Detectives, along with Berkeley, South Toms River and Beachwood police officers, executed search warrants at four houses on Dec. 7 - two in Berkeley, one in Beachwood and one in South Toms River, Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said.

Bobby Hardy, 41, 31 Baylor Street, South Toms River, was charged with possession of heroin over one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, maintaining a controlled dangerous substance manufacturing facility and maintaining a fortified structure. Ocean County Superior Court Judge James Blaney set Hardy's bail at $250,000, with no ten percent option.

Also arrested were:

Randall Stubbs, 29, of 265 First Avenue, Berkeley Township. Stubbs was charged with possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute and possession of heroin. His bail was set at $15,000, with no ten percent option.

Clarence Grant, 29, 204 Admiral Drive, Beachwood. Grant was charged with possession of CDS (Roxicet and Zanax). He was released on a summons.

Nicole Villa, 28,  204 Admiral Drive, Beachwood. Villa was charged with possession of CDS (Roxicet and Zanax). She was released on a summons.

George Parker, 53, of 261 Second Avenue, Berkeley Township. Parker was charged with possession of cocaine. He was released on a summons.

Police also executed search warrants on four vehicles - a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, a 2005 Lincoln Continental, a 2012 Honda Pilot and a 1999 Buick Regal.

The vehicles and homes were used to facilitate the drug distribution operation, Ford said.

Police seized over one ounce of raw heroin, approximately 13 grams of cocaine, a quantity of Roxicet and Zanax prescription pills, $8,400 in cash and materials associated with the packaging and distribution of CDS, Ford said.

Police officers from Berkeley Township, South Toms River, Beachwood, Barnegat, the Ocean County Sheriff's Department's K-9 Unit, the New Jersey State Police K-9 Unit and the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team assisted in the investigation and execution of the search warrants, Ford said.
